Crane alumnus bounced back from torn ACL, MCL with Celtics in 2007
The support Derrick Rose received from within and outside the Bulls organization since tearing his left anterior cruciate ligament has been well-documented.One avenue, however, has resonated strongly with Rose, who arrived at the United Center for Game 2 on crutches with his left leg immobilized.Grizzlies guard Tony Allen, a Crane High School alumnus, has offered encouragement and advice on how to rebound from the injury, according to two people. We are protecting our borders? When a man like Anastasio Rojos is beaten to death by the United States authorities, I’d like to say we are doing just the opposite of that. In the video uncovered by PBS, we not only see that Anastasio is clearly outnumbered 12 to 1 by the US border patrol but we also hear his agonizing pleas as he begs for his life: “No! No! Déjenme! No! Señores!”
This is the reality of what happens on the soils of the Mexican-US border. It is the violent physical manifestation of this country’s position on illegal immigration. This is about the lives lost at the hands of the US border patrol. It is about the white supremacist outlook on who has the right to survive. It is about the dehumanization of people looking for a better life. And, It is vile and disgusting.
This isn’t a Chicago thing necessarily, but seeing as though Chicago does have a large immigrant and Latino community I thought many of you would take interest in this video. It is truly horrific.
